Hi There!
First let me just say thank you so much for all your kind comments. I am a newbie blogger, and it is great encouragement to me. Please forgive me if I do not get everything right just yet...I am learning, and will hopefully get better.
It is so great to be a part of this blogging community! I love sharing what I do, and reading about your projects .
I was so inspired by my little red table last month, that I just had to paint something else red...something that I actually got to keep.
This is what I came up with after "shopping my home"...
Two old, crooked, wooden candlesticks, a brown wooden clock from Goodwill , paper towel holder, wire candle holder, one of those cast iron thingies to put hot dishes on, and, of course, the table.
I have been looking for a table like this for a while now, and found one at Savers the other day, to my utter delight! The plan was to paint it black, but as a result of my recent "red phase", I decided to try it in red. There are red/ burgundy accents throughout my home, so this is not as far fetched as it sounds.
So, armed with Krylon Gloss Red Cherry and Kilz spray primer, I set to work ..
The wooden candle holders became a nice pop of color in their respective little corners.
Suddenly the old wooden clock did not look so tired anymore...
The tabletop arrangment needs some improvement, I will work on
that some more...
I'm also not feeling that lampbase with the new table, but I have some $1.00 GW candidates waiting in the garage..
I did the usual treatment on all of these; sprayed with red, then glazed with black, then distressed.
Here are the red accents in the kitchen...The red frame and blackboard I did the next day, and of course forgot to take pictures.
But don't you just love it?
Will this be the last of the red paint? Stay tuned and find out...
Let me know what you think..I love your comments and advice!

ReplyDeleteLove love love! I have that exact table; hadn't thought of painting it. I do have an amazing $5 library table; Alpha Hubby re-did by painting the top a beautiful red, then polyurethane glossing and it is my favorite piece ever. I love pops of red in a house.
