What could this be?

Hi There, Strangers!

I am embarrassed that my last post was before Christmas! I would like to say it is because I am too busy living life,  to report on it, but that is sadly not true. I am just having a really hard time to get back into the swing of things.
I have cut down on my Goodwill and Savers expeditions, since I have not really found a way to sell the stuff I paint, and our garage is bursting at the seams. Wonderhusband has not said a word, but I know he is just a teeny  bit  irritated with old furniture and pieces of furniture everywhere.
Our Goodwill has gone nuts with their prices. Its almost not worth buying something there anymore if you are going to still have to spend money on it.

BUT.....I do have a few ideas up my sleeve, that I want to start executing  one of these days, one of which is my daughter's bedroom.

In the mean time...who can tell me what this is supposed to be, and /or give me ideas on what to do with it?

Neat, right? I saw it at GW and just had to buy it. It seemed so interesting to me.

The door panels are glass, but I bet when painted, it would look like tin ceiling tiles or iron work.

It almost looks like it could have been part of some wine rack or something, and I thought that if I should paint her with the idea of selling, a drinks trolley sounded like a cool idea.

For me, if I should keep her, I would make her into some kind of morning coffee stand in our bedroom. Our bedroom is upstairs, and I go down every morning to go get us some coffee. But how cool would it be if I got one of those two cup coffeemakers, and set it the night before, so we wake up with the smell of coffee in our nostrils...

What do you think...any ideas?

I would love to hear from you,

  1. Great find Suzanne! I love both of your ideas...I could see either one of them working out in your home. So I can't decide right now...hmmm

  2. Hi Suzanne. You have a reproduction of a dry sink. Here's the definition from Your Dictionary dot com...dry sink
    noun
A wooden cabinet that supports a wash basin not connected to a water supply.

I like the idea of keeping it and using it for a coffee bar upstairs. It would be perfect.
    Be blessed, Missy

  4. I agree with Melissa. This is a dry sink. It was used to display all kinds of things and had a bowl and pitcher on the side of it. Cool piece. A coffee bar would be wonderful. Hugs, Marty

  5. I do not have any ideas for this item but was wondering if you had thought of trying to consign your items at an antique store or sell them on Craiglist?

  6. I have no idea what that is. I was also going to suggest Craigslist to both sell your stuff and get free or cheap things to redo. The free section has furniture in it all the time.

  7. What a great find and I agree with it being a dry sink. I love it as a coffee bar in your bedroom. I know exactly what you mean w/ painting and hoping to sell and the next thing ya know, you have furniture store in your garage. Don't give up! I finally had a great week selling some of my stuff~4 things in 3 days. Try Craigslist, do an etsy shop, just keep relisting if you do Craigslist and eventually your things will sell just don't get discouraged...Sue

  8. I love it as a drink trolley or a coffee bar. I am sure you will make it into something wonderful, can't wait to see. Thrift stores around here charge outrageous prices, I don't know why I even go!

  10. I'm not a coffee drinker & don't have a 2 story house but if I was & if I did, I would LOVE to have a cute place to have coffee in my BR. I think it's a fabulous idea!
