Maybe you remember this desk from my post here ....
It was for her room, to be used as a vanity, and it works wonderfully with all the space in the drawers.
We just had to tweak it a little to go with the "new" room.
Some Modge Podge and gift wrap, and the desk is ready to be part of the "Tween Room".
This was a very important step, as my daughter's favorite game with her friends is, what they call,
"Blind Makeovers".
Yes, it is exactly whatyou think it is....
I used the Minwax Wipe-On Poly. Waterbased. I have to say I am not too happy with this product. It leaves a yellowish tint, even though I read somewhere that the waterbased does not do this.
For now, it is good enough, though. I am sure that desk is going to need another make-over soon, anyway...
Only a couple more pieces, and the room will be done...
Yeah!
Happy Cinco De Mayo!
Super cute! I hope the detailing you put on it with that paper.
ReplyDeleteOh man, that is perfect for a tween! I love love the paper!! I used the waterbased wipe on poly and didn't have the yellow problem that's weird. I had to learn the hard way about the regular one turning yellow though, ugh.
ReplyDeleteTotally fun and how great does it look in that pink room. I want to see more of the room too. :)

Thanks for stopping by my blog and taking time to leave me such a cute, darling, comment! Luved it!!! Know you are enjoying makeovers for your girl... I knew about the yellow thing from reading Miss Mustard Seed. I have never used the wipe on poly... if you ever do decide to redo the adorable new look you have going... try Chalk Paint... it will work over your poly with no sanding required!!!! Oh.. and it was the best Stripper my husband has EvEr picked up! Smile.
ReplyDeleteI love the paper on top, what a fun touch. Blind Makeovers, dont tell my 13 yr old about that game LOL! Did you have any trouble with he paer wrinkling with the mod podge?
ReplyDeleteLove it Love it Love it. I am a huge fan of black and white and then you throw the damask in there for me too. You could deliver this piece to Iowa if it gets too yellow for you. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing it on Motivated Monday at BeColorful.
As for your daughter and her friends, make up is an acquired art. hehe
